2011
2011 was a great year for Yuukan Judo Club- here is a brief summery of all we have done.
4 Members went to the State Selections and all medalled.
The same 4 went to the Australian Nationals at Perth with 3 of them medalling.
Our small club grew from 17 members in 2010 to 33 members in 2011.
We had another family who joined the other tournament "Yuukan family" and travelled with us and stayed with us at different competitions.
We invited Budokan judo club down to our club for an interclub training weekend and we also took them surfing.
We also got together with St Georges Basin Judo Club and International Judo Club and had interclub training/tournaments days with them. This gave the new little members, some tournament experience and was a great bonding for us all, which helped our members at different tournaments when our sensei could not make it, and the senseis of International Illawarra Club and St Georges Basin Club helped coach our members to make the winning podem. Thank you to Greg C, Ben B and Greg G
We, as a club travevlled to Lake Macquarie for the Country Championships and the County/city Open where we won the most winning points for the weekend, therefore taking home the perpetual trophy.
Our club changed its belting and grading system with the rest of the Australian judo to comply with the IJF.
We had the first ever Australian Junior Gold Referee certificate awarded to one of our members.
And sad news, it sees the Harris Family move away to start a new life and journey away from Bawley Point. You all will be sadly missed, but as many of you know.. so will the boys antics in "untraditional judo techniques" which include showing off their " bums".. enjoy your journey and please keep in touch.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MEMBERS OF 2011.
Chris, Sampson, Penny, Ray, Blake, Jake, Luke, Michael, Lance, Molly, Riley, Joel, Amelie, Madeliene, Pia, Eva, Loui, Willem, Jess, Nicholas, Nikolas, Marko, Eva, Rosie, Tasman, Yet, Yuul, Ned, James, Jessica, Emily, Kyle, Tahi,
