2012 SOUTH AUSTRALIA INTERNATIONAL OPEN (SAIO)
5 Yuukan members Sensei Chris and their parents travelled to S.A for the International open.
We were lucky enough to leave on the most coldest day in history where NSW and more to the point Ulladulla had the most rainfall and was declared a flooded zone.
With Blake, Luke, Riley, Michael and Molly all in tow we walked for what seemed ages (4 blocks)
The results were fantastic with
Blake Under 66kg junior men Silver and senior men Bronze, He also went into the open, but unfortunately his first fight against under 100kg Ben Broadhead it was over extrememly quickly.
Luke Under 50kg senior boys Silver medal. This was a try out to see if Lukes back was up to competing again, and he will still need some more time off as it was not to be and he was again in a lot of pain after competing.
Michael Under 55kg senior boys Gold medal. This was a great effort and Michael took this divison out extremely effortless. His energy was up and he fought well.
Molly Under 57kg senior girls fourth. This was a tough division but molly held her own but unfortunately did not medal on the day.
Riley Under 50kg junior boys Gold medal. This was Rileys first competition after his broken arm and it was not a deterrant as he went in for a great win.
But the competition was just a "small" part of our trip to SA with a visit to the Adelaide Zoo, a Dolphin Watch Criuse and of course a trip to the markets for Gayle.
Our accommodation was so nice at the Pulteney Plazza Apartments every thing was nice and close and it Fantastic to come back to a nice comfy bed, and a spa for the kids after long days.
Thank you to Jill Morris and Kioloa/ Bawley Point Sport and Recreation Club for your financial support we had a great 4 days.
Thanks to Blake Nolan for the photos.
