Yuukan Judo Club

ACT International Championships 16-17th February.

Yuukan members and their families travelled to the ACT for the first major competition of 2013 at the ACT international Open.
The ACTIO is the first opportunity for competitors to be selected for the Oceanias.

This year we had three members in Cadets..Blake, Michael and Lance, their divisions were HUGE and well contested.
Blake also competed in the young mens, he came away with a BRONZE medal.
Lance and Michael were up against some tough competitors but did themselves extremely proud..

Molly and Riley were in the Senior Boys and Girls, This too was a new divison for Riley. However, This is Mollys last year as a Senior Girl and is top of her division, when she competed, we all could see her experience and great technique, she won the GOLD medal.

The two "new" competitors Amelie and Nicholas junior boys and girls (it is the first year that both were old enough to compete in the opens) . They both did a great job and it is fantastic to see they both were willing to get on the mat with more experienced players and give it their best shot, with both of them giving their opponents a tough time.. I am sure that we will be seeing some great results from them in the future.

It was also a great night to catch up with some "old" Yuukan friends, Mabel, Garry, Helen, Dan, Hayley, Brittany, Marko and Nikolas, and "New" friends, Michelle and Daniela.. where we all could get together for "smokey" Pizza and garlic bread.
Hope to make it an annual "get together".

The kids had a great time in the pool and on the Jumping Pillow at the Capital Country Caravan Park. They even had time to do the "Harlem Shake"
