ACT International Open
Blake, Luke, Micheal, Molly, Lance and Riley all went up to the ACT Open on the 11th and 12th Feb.
On Saturday Blake and Riley were our only fighters.
Riley was first up, he only had one fight. His fight went to time, and then to golden score with out any points, the two boys were trying all different techniques but no score was awarded. The referees then went to flags and unanimously put the white flags up. Riley won gold.
Blake then came up, he had a really tough day, with cadets, junior men and senior men. He was awarded the bronze in cadets, he fought for the bronze in junior men just missing out on the medal after a lapse of concentration and used the senior men to gain experience.
Sunday we had Lance who came up first fight of the day. Unfortunately he was unsuccessful in his first fight, he then came up for his second and was beaten, This was a great experience for Lance.
Molly was next up, She fought hard with only losing one fight and was awarded the Bronze medal.
Micheal was up and he was fighting for the bronze medal, due to some of the referee lapse of concentration (that is the only way we can explain the missed ippons and wazaris) Micheal did not medal.
Luke also had some very bad referring and was fighting for position of the Gold or silver match and it went to golden score with Luke being up a yoko, but in the last 9 secs was thrown and lost this match, he then successfully fought for the Bronze medal and won..
The fights will all be on youtube soon, i will upload here as soon as they are available.
