Yuukan Judo Club Christmas Party and Presentation Day
CHRISTMAS PARTY and PRESENTATION was a PERFECT DAY, we had a few drizzly moments, but that didn't worry anyone in the pool, then the rain cleared and although not sunny, it was still very humid and perfect for swimming and playing at the park, No sunburned kids this year.
The Racecourse Caravan Park is always a great place to have our presentation, it has an under cover area and then we have the pool and park.
The T-shirts and bags from 24hourmerchandise were a hit with the kids and also the parents, as now the girls can wear them to tournaments and not worry about bringing an extra white shirt as this time we put the logo only on the back.. Great idea and suits everyone..
This year awards winners of the tournament point scorers should not have come as a big surprise to anyone, as they are on the website for everyone to see.
The winners for Mons Eva, Junior Amelie, Senior Molly and Cadet Blake, who finished with the most points, was Judoka of the year, they were all deserving winners and they have travelled and competed for the Yuukan club in every tournament that was available, both JFA and in the IBF.
However, it was the HUGE surprise and was lovely to see Amelie's face when she was awarded the Perpetual Trophy for Judo Spirit Award, it was fantastic, as she did not know that she was in the running for it and Eva M was also surprised she got the encouragement award, but both were extremely deserving recipients of the awards.
Finally, to add another surprise to everyone there, the Ashley Schofield Scholarship, that will be presented at the end of each term for the rest of 2014 and Michael became our first successful deserving winner.
A HUGE Congratulations on the 2013 Yuukan Judo Club members and especially the award winners, you are all deserving winners of these awards and to get the award for the tournament points is easy if you go to the tournaments available to everyone and we hope next year, we have some even tighter point scores, as the Junior section has the most participants that we have ever had in our club, so i wish you luck and you can keep track of the 2014 tournaments and your points if you (just click here). So no reason not to try and win next years Highest tournament point scorer.
Thank you to Ray and Alan for cooking of the BBQ. Val, Sandi, Belle and Terry for contributing to the raffle.
And for all the helpers that make the day a great success as we couldn't do it without your help.
The great photography work was by Carol and Lilla.
