Yuukan Judo Club

Term 3 Presentation and Tournament.

Yuukan members ended the term off in its usual fashion, with the end of term inter club tournament as well as the end of term presentation, however this term also had other surprises.
The "Blake Technique" which this term was all about ground holds, how to do them and their names were won by

Then we also had the "Ashley Schofield" Scholarship that was awarded to Rose (She has shown both commitment and dedication to her judo both on and off the mat).
This
term, Ashley also donated $100 for competition entries. As we have the Country Championships and South Coast Open in October, (Entry is $50 to compete both days)  the donation was split into two donations of $50 each.
As this donation was based on tournament entry, we chose, who we feel would greatly benefit from this donation.

The first judoka to receive the donation is
Amelie - i dont think there is anyone who has been to more tournaments in our club, Amelie always competes and she enters every competition that she can, she always gives her best and she never complains, Ashley hopes that with his donation it shows all the hard work that Amelie puts in and it does not go without recognition.

The second judoka to receive the donation is
Rylan - he has not been doing judo for long, just two terms, but since he has been eligible to compete, he too has competed in the tournaments and because of this, Ashely, hopes that with the donation it will encourage Rylan to continue to do well and compete in as many tournaments that he can.

Yuukan would like to say a big Thank you to Ashley for your support of our members, we know that they all deserve an award and it is always extremely difficult to chose. But we know that each term it gets harder with the great members that we have.
Congratulations Rose well deserved.

We also had presentation of grading 9 Yuukan students this term, which i think has to be close to a record for our club, these students have been working hard towards their grading and it is with great pleasure that they have been successful in reaching their next JFA grade.
