2012 VICTORIAN OPEN

What a great way to spend a few days away. This would NOT have been possible without the generous donation from Jill, (thank you Jill, we all give you a big kiss and hug).
We arrived in Victoria and on the Friday, unfortunately, Annie and Gayle had to wash all the dishes so that we could eat off clean dishes, it was freezing cold and after Ray spent the time lighting the fire, the wind blew the smoke back down the chimney.. But all in all, it was a house and a bed to lay our heads and relax our bodies after the full days of judo.

Blake weighed in. He made the Under 60kg. He competed on Saturday and took out his division with the GOLD medal, he then went in the young mens and we were all pleasently suprised when he also took out that divison and te GOLD medal.
Saturday night saw Luke, Michael, Molly and Lance weigh in.
FINALLY, Luke and Michael are out of each others divisions. (not for long) but it was a nice to have the oppourtunity for 2 chances for the GOLD medals.
Luke competed on the Sunday in the Under 50kg and took out his division with the GOLD medal. Michael (went up) so he was at the bottom of the Under 55kg, but this was NOT an obsticle for Michael and successfully competed in this division, although he took home the BRONZE medal, This division could of easily been Micheals (well done).
Molly had a great division, in the under 57kg and although she did not medal this did not take away the great judo that Molly showed.
Lance also had great fights in the Under 60kg and showed great determination, he proved that strength does not necessariy win over good techniques.
The weekend was a great success and we had many fun times. It was great to also spend the night with Evane and Catarine (thank you ladies, what a great evening).
Thank you to Sensei Chris and Ray. And great cooking, once again for Annie.

There were SO many great photos over the weekend,. Congratulations EVERYONE.
